On Philadelphia: "There's good shopping here, and I always find someplace where I can get something good to eat. Philly is so close to New York that I don't feel like I'm out of town, really. It feels right over the bridge, pretty quick, and everyone I work with is from here-my manager, my road manager, everybody. There's a really grassroots following of music here, particularly of black music, and you can always identify the Muslims here, the young guys with the beards. It's a dope city; it's good. The style pretty much seems the same, I think, as New York."

Kelis' new album Kelis Was Here drops July 25. Her single "Bossy" is out now.
