On Philadelphia: "I performed at the Academy of Music about three years ago. My favorite thing to do in Philly is to go to Ms. Tootsie's, the soul food restaurant. She has this sweet potato cheesecake that you would probably rob somebody for. I was filming the movie Shadowboxer here, and my trailer was about three blocks away from the location. I played a junkie in that movie and I was at my lowest point. So I told Lee Daniels, the director, I wanted to walk back to my trailer to see if people recognized me. And as I was walking back people were like, 'Mo'Nique? Are you okay?' I looked like a junkie. People were stopping their cars, they were running around the corner, because word got out that, 'Y'all, Mo'Nique is walkin' down the street and somethin' ain't right.' So Philadelphia has a special kind of love. It's like family."

Mo'Nique is starring in the movie Fat Girlz, opening April 7.
