On Philadelphia: "This is going to be a big night for me here. Tonight the National Soccer Coaches Association is honoring me, and as anyone who's seen my career knows ... I shouldn't be here. Soccer is not like basketball. It's a sport that can be played by people of a more squat stature. I'm like the George Bush of soccer. I'm gonna spread soccer throughout the world whether they like it or not. A lot of these soccer guys I haven't seen for years. But it's always a lot of fun seeing the guys you played with. Chances are many of them are still drunk. I once played at Veterans Stadium before a North American Soccer League game. My memory is that my cement basement was a better field. It was literally the hardest surface I'd ever played on. I couldn't believe they were forcing people to actually play athletic sports at Veterans Stadium."

Jon Stewart, host of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, was in town to receive the National Soccer Coaches Association honorary All-American award at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
